Formative assessment involves a range of strategies designed to give each student, their parents’ and teachers feedback about their understanding of elements of their learning in their subjects being studied.
Progress reports contains:
information on a student’s homework.
information on a student’s behaviour.
a grade from a recent exam.
a teachers comment on the students overall performance in each subject.
Parents of First, Second and Fifth years will receive a progress report in October. It will also contain the number of days absent to the date of issue of the report. Parents will be aware of their sons progress before they receive their first formal inhouse examinations report at Christmas and Summer.
Parents of Third and Sixth years will receive a progress report in December containing the same points of information. Progress reports will ensure that parents are updated on their sons general progress outside of parent teacher meetings and formal reports (Christmas/Summer in house exams).
