Erasmus Trip : Looking Ahead to Clermont-l'Hérault

Our upcoming Erasmus adventure is nearly here, and excitement is growing across the school. This year, 21 students will be taking part in the exchange, which is part of the wider Erasmus initiative—an international programme designed to build strong relationships between schools across Europe. For our exchange, we’ll be partnering with Collège du Salagou, a school in the south of France, and we’re delighted that the EU is partially funding the trip. The grant we’ve received will cover our travel to France as well as the activities planned during our stay.

One of the most exciting parts so far has been the chance for our students to meet their French exchange partners online ahead of the trip. These early introductions have helped everyone feel more prepared and connected before travelling abroad.

We’ll be travelling to France from March 20th to March 27th, and during that week students will stay with their French partners and their families—an amazing opportunity to experience everyday life in another culture. We’ll spend two days in Collège du Salagou, where we’ll work together on a joint project focused on student voice, exploring how young people can influence school life and make their ideas heard. The remaining days will be filled with activities organised by our host school, giving us the chance to soak up the culture in Clermont l'Hérault and beyond.

But the exchange doesn’t end there! After the Easter break, from April 11th to April 17th, it will be our turn to welcome the French students to Ireland. The partner each of us stayed with in France will come to stay in our homes. Just like in France, we’ll spend two days working on the project, with plenty of activities planned for the rest of their visit.

With learning, friendship, culture, and adventure ahead, this Erasmus exchange promises to be an unforgettable experience for everyone involved. Stay tuned for updates as we count down the days! 🇫🇷✈️🇮🇪
